Nelson Jenig
LSW, Clinician
Nelson Jenig is a Licensed Social Worker who enjoys the genuine connections that come from being in the therapeutic process together. In her practice, her goal is to provide a safe and empathetic space for you to open up and work through your problems. She earned her Masters Degree in Social Work with a specialization in School Social Work at Aurora University. In 2023, she completed a fellowship at University of Chicago learning Contextually-Focused Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT) practices. In addition, she has completed Level 1 of the Gottman's Couples Therapy Training.
She has experience working with the adolescent population through older adults within the private practice field. She also has experience as a School Social Worker after working for Chicago Public Schools. She has worked with populations who struggle with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, anger, grief/loss, ADHD, gender dysphoria, relationship issues, and trauma. Within her practice, she wants to work together to problem-solve ways to improve your life while also providing you a safe space to process and learning skills to manage life stressors. She is truly passionate about getting to know you as an individual and what makes you who you are today.
Nelson provides individualized treatment to all her clients as she assesses their needs and they identify their goals moving forward. She enjoys incorporating different elements into her sessions based on her clients goals/needs - this may include having a vent session for times to process, learning coping skills such as mindfulness practices, distress tolerance skills, and emotional regulation skills, art therapy to promote introspection and processing, and other modes of therapy. Nelson's goal is to help you learn how to manage your emotions so you can live your best life. Together, Nelson wants to work through behaviors that may no longer be serving you in your present day life that may have had a purpose in your past.
